WE’RE WORKING ON SOME BIG UPGRADES AND CLOSED UNTIL MID-SEPTEMBER.

ENJOY YOUR SUMMER AND SEE YOU BACK HERE AGAIN SOON!

We invite you to enjoy the practice of a traditional Nordic sauna close to the shores of Willard Bay.

The deep heat of the sauna contrasts with the chilly, peaceful waters to leave you feeling rejuvenated, refreshed, and energized.

Our sauna includes a privacy / changing room with hooks for your bags and towels, a hot room with comfortable seating for up to eight, an outdoor pull-chain bucket shower, two outdoor cold plunges, nearby restrooms (open year-round), and space with nearby seating for your cool down.

  • Our sauna is located inside the beautiful Willard Bay State Park. For directions, please visit our Contact page. Also, we advise using Google Maps rather than Apple Maps for navigation to the sauna.

  • The sauna is open daily from 6am to 11pm. Please check our website or contact us for any special holiday hours. You can see our Google business profile listing here: https://share.google/OqwLxDVRi9Nkbbnre

  • A bathing suit, two towels (one to sit on and one to dry yourself off with afterwards), flip-flops, and a bottle of water. No food is allowed in the sauna room, although it’s always a good idea to have a snack between sauna rounds or after working up a sweat.

  • To book an appointment, click on ‘BOOK NOW’, select a day and time, and reserve the spot.

  • Absolutely! Please reach out to us directly at hello@willardbaysauna.com to book the entire sauna privately for yourself, friends, or family.

  • At this time we ask that you do not bring food or drink aside from water into the sauna. This includes alcohol as well. That said, there are beautiful spaces just nearby where we encourage anyone wanting to picnic to do so.

  • Once you book, you will receive an email confirmation with the sauna door code. If you don’t receive the confirmation email check your spam folder and / or reach out to us directly at hello@willardbaysauna.com

  • Our facilities include private sauna rooms, cold plunge, outdoor shower, Adirondack chairs, speaker for music (you can plug in your phone), as well as a shelf full of accoutrements (essential oils, reading materials, card games, and more). Nearby there are men’s and women’s restrooms managed by the park and open year-round.

  • All our saunas are shared (or communal), for up to eight spaces per session, ensuring a social experience for our guests. But you can reach out to us to learn about options for booking the whole sauna for a private session.

  • Stay hydrated before and after your session, avoid heavy meals beforehand, and relax to maximize the benefits of the sauna.

We keep the saunas at a target temperature of 190F, which is greatly aided by opening the door as little and as quickly as possible. Löyly, the practice of creating steam in a sauna by pouring small amounts of water over the hot stones, is allowed.

  • Guests with certain medical conditions, such as heart problems, respiratory issues, or pregnancy, should consult a doctor before using the sauna. If you feel unwell, please avoid using the sauna.

  • For new sauna users, spending 10-15 minutes per round with cool-downs in between is recommended.

Your first round might be longer, especially if you start with a cold body temperature. That first sweat can take 10-15 minutes. Remember: listen to your body. It’s not a competition to see who can withstand the highest amount of heat the longest.

Consider 2-3 rounds with cold showers or a cold plunge in between to maximize health benefits.

Above all else, take it easy and listen to your body.
